The West Moors Memorial hall was built in 1929 and is held under a deed as a public
charitable trust as a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of West Moors and
those in the immediate vicinity. It is dedicated to the memory of those who fell
in the first World War.
It recently achieved the coveted ‘Hallmark’ accreditation which is recognition that
the Hall has reached the national benchmark standard required by ACRE (Action with
Communities in Rural England). This confirms that the Hall is maintained and run
to a very high standard and it is one of very few halls in Dorset to achieve this
